I am a single mom who spends all my free time reading to escape the craziness of real life. Everything I read features hot men loving other hot men, probably due to the lack of hot men in my own life. I recently tried my hand at the writing game. My first short, Risking the Field, will be hitting the public this summer thanks to the Don't Read in the Closet event held every year by the M/M Romance Group on Goodreads. I write under the name Jean McGray, an hommage to my grandfather and my high school nickname.
There is something about this series.... I avoided it for so long because of my aversion to historicals and now I am hooked! I said it in my review for Widdershins and I'll say it again. This is like reading a m/m Stephen King! I started reading this morning and didn't stop until I got to the last page. I was totally entranced.
This installment found Griffin and Whyborne working for Whyborne's father, investigating strange happenings at a mine in West Virginia. While they are there, they are faced with Pinkertons and Griffin's former lover, Elliot. Christine is along for the adventure, too! I love that woman! There are creepy creatures, a little magic, murder, and a lot of lovin'. Can't wait to read book 3!
Lyle has been in a rut since his last relationship ended, so when his company gives him the opportunity to transfer to Kansas for a year, he decides to leave everything behind and start over. When he gets there, he meets Roger, the co-owner and baker at the local restaurant. Roger has plenty of his own demons, a recovering alcoholic with a teenage daughter and a cruel ex-wife, he is forced to hide who he is to keep his girl with him.
Elliot was forced to give up his career in the FBI when he was injured in the line of duty. Now, he teaches at PSU. When a family friend's son goes missing, his father asks him to investigate because the police and FBI aren't taking his disappearance seriously. He is then forced to work with his former partner and ex-lover, Tucker.
Why do I wait so long to read these books???? lol Then I kick myself because they are so incredible and I have been missing out on them! I am not one for historical, so that put me off, but this story was so engaging that I completely forgot it was historical. I felt like I was reading a M/M Stephen King novel! The rituals, the scary creatures, the mystery! Perfection! I loved it all and I am getting book 2 immediately!
OMG! I love Eli! He was such a sweetheart and so funny! When Quinn's boyfriend of 10 years drops the bomb that not only has he been cheating, but that Peter has gotten the girl pregnant and is leaving him to marry her, Quinn is devastated. He is also forced keep their relationship a secret and still be a part of his ex's life. His revenge? Bringing the very flaming Eli to the baby's baptism as his new boyfriend. Peter was the biggest a**hole in the world and deserved everything he got. Nate and Kellan from the first book were very involved in this book and Nate was still a jerk.
The perfect finale to the Thomas Elkin series! I loved how everything wrapped up and Cooper and Tom got their perfect HEA. There was minimal drama, just enough to keep it interesting, plenty of hot action, and lots of laughs and love. All the good stuff I love from N.R. Walker.
Frustration! This felt like half a story. Just when things were starting to get good, it just ended. I feel completely unfulfilled and need more!
This book was received free in return for an honest review via the M/M Romance Don't Buy My Love Program
Another awesome installment in the Psycop series! Vic and Jacob are back and have to help find their friend Lisa, who has gone missing from Psytrain. There was plenty of action of the paranormal and psychic variety and a little loving going on. Vic and Jacob's relationship continues to grow and evolve, as does Vic's power and understanding of it. There is also more acknowledgement of Jacob's growing powers. I love these stories and I am excited to see what the next book brings!
A twisted story in episodes that I know I am going to love! This first episode introduced us to the main players. Jack, an ex-con who is not what he seems, and Sid, a lawyer who is working on the biggest case of his life, not realizing what he is getting himself into. I can't wait to see where this story leads!
Poor Shawn suffers from an extreme case of Murphy's Law. Whatever can go wrong, will! He takes being accident-prone to a new level, is on first name basis with all the nurses and EMTs, the auto club knows him personally, and his family keeps their first aid skills up to date! So of course the first time he meets the man of his dreams he has just fallen.
A fitting finale for Ty and Zane. Our full cast of characters were back and helping them clear their names and ferret out the mole who set up Zane and killed Richard Burns. There were so many twists and surprises, the normal humor, and a healthy dose of heat. I have to say that there was nothing predictable about this story. I was shocked at every turn. And make sure to keep reading to the very last page of the book for an adorable look at life after for Ty and Zane. I am going to miss them!
This was a surprise. I didn't think I would love this story as much as I did. Naef was born with a few physical defects, then puberty was a little cruel. After growing up abused by the villagers, he prefers to be called Knife and hardens himself to everything around him. When his sister falls in love, but refuses to leave him, he jumps at the chance to give back to her by leaving their small island to be her suitor's cousin's companion for a year. Aerie-Smith is in a difficult predicament. His entire island has been under a curse for years and he thinks that this year with Knife by his side will be the end to the curse.

This was a great follow-up to [b:Afflicted|15927486|Afflicted (Afflicted, #1)|Brandon Shire|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1346380275s/15927486.jpg|21678151]. Dillon has left the escort business behind and started a new life with Hunter. But their new happiness is short-lived because Dillon's past with his family and Hunter's lingering insecurities threaten what they have built. These two are hot together! And so sweet. I love how they work together. I don't know why I waited so long to read the sequel!
