Reading and Rambling

I am a single mom who spends all my free time reading to escape the craziness of real life.  Everything I read features hot men loving other hot men, probably due to the lack of hot men in my own life.  I recently tried my hand at the writing game.  My first short, Risking the Field, will be hitting the public this summer thanks to the Don't Read in the Closet event held every year by the M/M Romance Group on Goodreads.  I write under the name Jean McGray, an hommage to my grandfather and my high school nickname.

Lost & Found: A Gay Romance Novel (Surf Bay Book 1)

Lost & Found: A Gay Romance Novel (Surf Bay Book 1) - Ashley John I received a copy of this book in exchange for an an honest review through the DBML program.

As much as I loved Charlie, I hated Oliver. If any guy approached me the way he approached Charlie, he would have ended up in the hospital! There was nothing romantic or sweet about it. He was a total perv and creep. I can't see a single reason why Charlie would have actually ended up with Oliver in real life. He did redeem himself a little in the end, but not enough for me to like him.

There were also a lot of editing errors. Misspelled names and empty quotation marks that drove me nuts when I can usually ignore things like that. Overall, a miss for me. And GFY is my favorite!
